Welcome to the Resource Guide for Music at Emmanuel University! Here you will find recommended resources for books and journals, and websites supporting the Music courses taught in the EU Baccalaureate program. There are two writing style guides in use by the Music courses at EC, MLA and Turabian. Information for both these guides can be found here under "Style Guides."

Associations, Foundations and Societies

American Musicological Society
The American Musicological Society was founded in 1934 to advance research in the various fields of music as a branch of learning and scholarship.
American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers
The leading U.S. Performing Rights Organization representing over 435,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers.
ChoralNet: American Choral Director Association
The mission of the ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.
Galpin Society
The Galpin Society, founded in 1946, promotes the study of all kinds of musical instruments.
Gospel Music Association
The GMA’s mission is “to expose, promote and celebrate the Gospel through music”.
International Council for Traditional Music
Aims are to further the study, practice, documentation, preservation and dissemination of traditional music and dance of all countries.
Music Teachers National Association
Founded in 1876 with the purpose of advancing the value of music study and music-making to society while supporting the careers and professionalism of teachers of music.
Society for American Music
Desires to stimulate the appreciation, performance, creation and study of American musics of all eras and in all their diversity, including the full range of activities and institutions associated with these musics throughout the world.
The College Music Society
The College Music Society promotes music teaching and learning, musical creativity and expression, research and dialogue, and diversity and interdisciplinary interaction.
The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada
Seeks the promotion and development of congregational song.
